Mandatory Observation Days

  • 15th August: Independence Day
  • 5th September: Teachers’ Day (Dr. S. Radhakrishnan’s Birthday)

Restricted / Sectional Holidays

The following holidays apply only to specific communities or regions:

  • 13 July (Mon): Poet Bhanu Bhakta’s Birthday (Darjeeling & Kalimpong only).
  • 01 Feb (Sun): Guru Ravidas Birthday (for followers) & Bir Chilarai Birthday (North Bengal districts only).
  • 04 April (Sat): Easter Saturday (for Christians).
  • 30 June (Tue): Hul Diwas (for Adivasi Santhal community).
  • Karam Puja: To be observed as per State Government declaration.
