The Election Commission is set to publish the initial Final Electoral Roll for the West Bengal Special Summary Revision (SIR) 2026 on February 28. This comprehensive list contains approximately 7.08 Crore names. However, merely having your name on this list does not automatically guarantee your right to vote in the upcoming assembly elections.
Due to rigorous scrutiny, roughly 60 Lakh names have undergone special verification to filter out deceased or shifted voters. When you download and check the list, it is absolutely critical to look at the Remarks section printed beside your name. Your voting eligibility is categorized into specific statuses.
🟢 Approved
If your name has this remark, your verification is complete and successful. You are directly eligible to cast your vote.
🟡 Adjudicated
Your application is under judicial review due to logical discrepancies. You must wait for the Supplementary List (expected March 9-10) for final clearance.
🔴 Deleted
Your name has been removed by the ERO/AERO because proper documentation was not presented during the hearing process.
⚫ Absent / Death
Marked for voters who were absent during hearings or are deceased. These individuals are naturally ineligible to vote.
