The Election Commission has published the definitive “SIR FinalRoll-Rev2 – 2026” list on April 11, 2026. According to various news reports, this comprehensive sanitization drive has resulted in the cumulative deletion of approximately 91 Lakh names to ensure a fair electoral process.
This massive cleanup occurred in three major phases: 1) On December 16, roughly 58 Lakh ASD (Absent, Shifted, Dead) voters were removed during the draft roll publication. 2) On February 28, the initial final roll saw the deletion of about 5 Lakh unmapped voters. 3) Finally, between March 5 and 11, nearly 28 Lakh cases that were under adjudication by honorable judges were officially deleted.
