Govt extends validity of motor vehicle documents like driving license (DL), registration certificate (RC) and permits till September 30, 2021 in view of #COVID19 pandemic.

“In a bid to help citizens in availing transport related services while maintaining social distancing, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has further extended validity of documents related to Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989 till 30th September, 2021.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had issued advisories dated 30^th March, 2020, 9^th June, 2020, 24^th August, 2020, 27^th December, 2020 and 26^th March, 2021 regarding the same.

It was advised that the validity of Fitness, Permit (all types), License, Registration or any other concerned document(s) might be treated to be valid till 30^th June, 2021.

This covers all documents whose validity has expired since 1st Feb, 2020 or would expire by 30th Sept 2021. Enforcement authorities are advised to treat such documents valid till 30th of Sept 2021.

This will help out citizens in availing transport related services, while maintaining social distancing.”

Government extends validity of driving licence

MORTH{Ministry of Road Transport and Highways-सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्रालय} has advised State and UT Govts that the Fitness, Permit (all types), License, Registration or any other concerned document(s) may be treated to be valid till 30 June 2021.

Yesterday The road transport and highways ministry on Sunday extended the validity of driving licence (DL) and other vehicle related documents such as RC, permits and fitness certificate till June 30.

Taking into consideration the grim situation still continuing due to conditions for prevention of spread of COVID-19 across the country, it is advised that the validity of all of the above referred documents whose extension of validity could not be, or was not likely to be, granted due to lock-down and/or COVID -19 and which had expired since 1st of Feb, 2020 or would expire by 30th June 2021, the same may be treated to be valid till 30th June, 2021. Enforcement authorities are advised to treat such documents valid till 30th June 2021. This will help out citizens in availing transport related services. It may be the last advisory in this regard.

Government extends validity of driving licence:- Extension of the Validity of documents related to Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989 and further to consider relaxation in Permit – fees / taxes etc.

This Extension is mainly due to second wave of Corona Pandemic.

Earlier, the Ministry had issued advisories on 30 March, 9 June, 24 Aug & 27 Dec 2020 regarding validity extension of documents related to MV Act, 1988 & Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. It was advised that these document(s) should be treated as valid till 31 March 2021.
