In partial modification of this Department notification no. 359-SED-13015/2/2022-Elemn Sec dated 22/08/2022 and in exercise of the powers conferred under section 18A(1)(a) of the West Bengal Primary Education Act, 1973, the Governor has been pleased to appoint the Ad hoc Committee of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education with Prof. (Dr.) Goutam Paul, Pro Vice Chancellor, Kalyani University as the President,
Ad hoc Committee, West Bengal Board of Primary Education as additional charge along with his present assignment as Pro Vice Chancellor, Kalyani University. The Governor, in exercise of the powers conferred under section 18A(1)(b) of the West Bengal Primary Education Act, 1973, has also been pleased to appoint the following persons as the members of Ad hoc Committee of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education.
These appointments are for a period of one year from the date of joining of Prof. (Dr.) Paul as the President, Ad hoc Committee, West Bengal Board of Primary Education.

WBBPE New Chairman Name-Gautam Pal, Vice-Chancellor of Kalyani University, is the new President of the Board of Primary Education. Bikash Bhavan has issued guidelines in this regard on Tuesday.
Calcutta High Court Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay ordered the removal of the board’s then president Manik Bhattacharya on June 21 due to the recruitment case. Since then the secretary of the board Ratna Bagchi was performing that duty.
Finally Prof. (Dr.) Goutam Paul was given independent responsibility as president. However, the administrative responsibility of the council is given to an ad hoc committee of 12 members. Prof. (Dr.) Goutam Paul is the president of that committee.
